Reading Together Workshops

Parents of our Year 0/1 students were invited to take part in our Term 3 Reading Together workshop programme.

The purpose of these workshops were to show parents how they can support their children with their reading.

We all know how very important reading is for children to succeed.

Research shows that support from home really helps children to become good readers.

We believe in a Home School Partnership because we know:

That you, the families –

  • are the greatest influence on your child’s learning and are essential to their success at school
  • are already doing a fantastic job
  • can share ways that will make an even greater impact on your child’s learning, with support from other parents and teachers
  • can establish a caring working partnership between school staff and the community

The programme consisted of four workshops – each approximately 1 hour.

The children absolutely loved attending one of the workshops where they got to spend special quality time reading to their parent at school.
